The Easy and Best Way to Measure and Merchandise Your Festival
Greg Fuson, Chandler Thinks, Franklin, TN
We all claim to not have enough time to measure the impact of our festivals. But each year when our resources are being questioned, we wish we could prove the value and impact that is being created. So let’s do it. Let’s use the time in this workshop to easily identify the basics of measuring economic impact for your festival. This sessions will outline “why measuring matters”; how to do your own study; and most importantly, how to merchandise it to others.

10:15 am – 11:00 am Kaleidoscope Awards: What Are They, Why and How You Should Enter
Brenda Pierce, TMP, FEP, Executive Director, Southeast Festivals & Events Association
There is no better endorsement than that of a third-party entity that has no vested interest
in yoursuccess, telling others that your festival has something special to offer.
This is what an award does for you. Awards generate buzz, press releases, media coverage, internet buzz, blog mentions, social networking comments and more. The recognition carries far and can put winners instantly in the spotlight. This discussion gives you tips and guidelines on putting together a winning entry.

12:30 pm – 1:15 pm Best Creative Idea Exchange
Did you not have quite enough time to network and talk amongst your peers at lunch? Still looking for that “Ah-Ha!” moment for your event? During this session you will share your most creative idea from your festival or event. The best creative idea will receive a prize.

Amy Doherty, TMP, FEP, Special Events Manager for the City of Suwanee, Ga.
Let’s get creative and talk about new ideas and fun ways to partner with sponsors for your events! Let’s talk about maximizing sponsor exposure, creating fun, and not just selling booths! Show Me the Money will show you how to cover cost by trading instead of paying, selling all aspects of your event and getting your sponsors to activate and participate in your event!
